Mapleton 11th Ward

  Dear 11th Ward Members, In 2 weeks it will be time again for General Conference.  It will be held on October 3rd and 4th.  I look forward to General Conference every 6 months.  Earlier in my life I didn't have the same feeling about Conference as I do now.  I would prepare for General Conference like I would prepare to go to the dentist. Avoid at all costs! President Nelson said in October 2019 General Conference that we should prepare for April 2020 by studying about the Restoration and read Joseph Smith History.  I can tell you that as I did what President Nelson asked, I had as I listened to the April 2020 talks,  a strong witness of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith's role as the Prophet of the Restoration. Dear 11th Ward Members, I am sure most of you have seen the First Presidencies announcement of changes to our meeting schedule that will soon be implemented. The Stake President has asked all of the Bishop's in our Stake to assess how these new directives will impact each individual ward and the wards that meet in the same buildings. After we meet with the Stake President this week a plan will be created to implement the First Presidencies changes that will best serve the members of each ward. I don't know how soon these changes will take place, I would guess that it will be soon. As soon as the changes have been made, the information will be sent to all. Change is inevitable! It is every bit as certain as death and taxes. When we agreed to support the Fathers plan in the pre-mortal world we agreed to lifetime of change.
